Preface
I have written this book after several years of gradual, though sometimes staggering, realizations about women!
Being one, we have always interested me. Now, however, I stand in awe of my own gender. Not because we are such a magnificent lot, but because God has placed such breathtaking responsibility in our hands. He has placed human lives in our hands. And to Him these are His dearest possessions. For some reason known only to Him, He has created into woman a frightening ability to leave marks on these lives which are so dear to Him.
A woman attempting to live her life with her own personality entirely in her own hands, can be a monster loosed. A woman living her life with her personality in the hands of Christ, can be a sure, creative benediction.
Woman to Woman is an informally written book. I have simply "let down my hair" with you and shared some of what Christ has taught me in my own life and through the lives of other women with whom I have come in contact. I have tried to show the altogether amazing difference it makes whether or not a woman's life is Christ-controlled. I have tried to be

practical. I have spattered the pages with true stories, some glorious, some tragic. But they are all stories which you will recognize and they are built around problems which you will know.
Almost four years have been spent gathering the material and the realizations which I have shared here. Nothing has been included which I have not known to work in a woman's life. I suggest that you look carefully at the table of contents and you will see that the following chapters cover the potential trouble areas in a woman's life all the way from her disposition to the way she faces death.
In the one instance where I have asked that you reread certain chapters, please take time to do it. The Christian life is a whole, and it has not been simple to break it up into chapters. And although I have written it informally woman to woman I hope you will concentrate as you read.
I must warmly thank all those who knowingly or unknowingly helped me gather the material for Woman to Woman. The teenagers and their mothers. The letters which have come. My thanks also to my associate, Rosalind Rinker, for her great help in sorting and arranging the material, and for her prayers and daily encouragement as I wrote. From my heart, I thank all of you who prayed for me. Lillian Lubbert, as always, handled the typing of my manuscript with love and care, and being married, kept me well encouraged on my chapters on family life.
As I have written, I have prayed daily that you who read it, will close the book each one of you, with a Christ-controlled life.
